In the village of Agios Georgios there is the homonymous Museum that presents the cultural heritage of the Plateau, as well as the surrounding area. Part of the museum complex of the village is the Ecclesiastical Museum.
The Ecclesiastical Museum is located between the Cretan Traditional and the Cretan Neoclassical Museum and is housed in the two-storied church of Agios Dimitrios. The particular architecture of the church dates back to 1876 and is in itself an important exhibit of the village's cultural heritage, with its splendid arches on the walls and the mosaic floor. Inside the church, the visitor has the unique opportunity to see old icons, iconostasis and famous carved works of the Nietoros School.
There is a refreshment room where the visitor can relax overlooking the beautiful plain of Lassithi Plateau.
